Susie uses a few naturopathic modalities (described below) to help you gain a state of sustainable best health:

Nutritional medicine

Nutritional alternative medicine gives your body what it needs to function at its best by eliminating  deficiencies that have been hampering proper function and causing disease.

Proper use of nutrients in the right doses is very powerful and will greatly help you towards holistic health by halting and/or reversing a disease process. You can expect to feel a marked difference within a few days of starting these natural remedies of  practitioner line nutritional products – many off the shelf products do not make any noticeable difference to your health – they may be synthetic, contain ineffective doses or combinations.

You may feel that you don’t need nutrients because you have a healthy diet – let us look at what causes the body to need more than the dietary supply of nutrients:

  • First of all, few of us live in natural unpolluted habitats, eating a wide variety of freshly picked locally and organically grown food that is balanced for maximum nutritional intake.
  • Increased mental, emotional and/or physical stress that is part of modern life.
  • Eating processed food and/or food that was chemically fertilised, sprayed with poison and harvested weeks to months ago.
  • Eating ice cream or similar. Cold or icy drinks.
  • Use of antibiotics leads to destruction of the good flora – this flora  synthesises all nutrients and promotes  good digestion. The antibiotics also cause the overproliferation of detrimental microbes that harm the gut and the brain and indirectly the rest of the body.
  • Aging and inefficient digestion.
  • Effects of a polluted world.
  • Drinking chemical laden (tap) water.
  • Using chemical laden products to brush your teeth, bathe, shave, moisturise and use makeup.
  • More chemical laden products to wash clothes, sheets, clean house, etc.
  • Having carpets in your home, dry cleaning clothes, using insecticides.

The above are just a few examples. All the above examples cause your body to have a greater demand for nutrients that you cannot possibly acquire from your diet alone.

If you were living on the land in an environment free from pollution, growing your own food organically, eating a balanced diet with a wide variety of foods that are suitable for your body type, insuring efficient digestion, exercise and practice some form of meditation, you may not need nutrients.

Seeing that it is highly unlikely that you are living as above, you will need nutrients and other natural remedies to help your body back to the best function it can have so you will be healthy and happy.

Meditation

Meditation is the last but not least practice that increases good mental and physical health. You may be taught a simple technique (if you wish) backed up by more than 20 years of research by the Harvard Medical School of Continuing Education.
There are many different techniques that can help you attain a peaceful, calm and happy existence even in times of hardship.
Meditation quiets the mind and helps you to be the master of yourself rather than allowing emotions to control you. You will find a change from reacting to situations to observing them and behaving in the best way to give you a desired outcome. This change is noticeable in the first week of practice and gets much better the longer you practice it.

Bioimpedance analysis (BIA) and Vitality, Longevity and Healthy Aging (VLA)

I have had extensive training in VLA and continue to study and update the most recent information
on this subject.
VLA is a system that gives me all the tools to help you maximize your ongoing health and wellbeing.
This includes a scientifically validated test known as Bioimpedance analysis (BIA).

What is (BIA)?

BIA is a science that was originally developed for use in monitoring hospital patients after surgery. It
has also been used in a number of the space missions to monitor astronaut’s health. BIA measures
biomarkers of health including:

  • Muscle mass.
  • Fat mass.
  • Body fluid balance – electrolyte balance, toxicity levels and inflammation.
  • Cellular health which relates to energy levels, toxicity and healthy aging.
  • Biological age

BIA can be included in all first consultations

How is BIA performed?

Your practitioner will connect leads to your hands and feet, passing a small current through your
body. This is a painless procedure which provides information on several of your body’s biomarkers.
What do Biomarkers tell you about health?
Biomarkers are parameters that measure an aspect of your health. They allow your practitioner to
monitor your cellular health, energy levels, toxicity, inflammation and response to treatment. BIA is
also a very accurate tool for measuring body fat and muscle mass levels, two of the most important
biomarkers of all. No other test provides all of this information so quickly and easily.

Who is the VLA programme for?

The main people who will benefit from this programme are people who want to:

  • Age healthily
  • Effectively detoxify their body.
  • Increase muscle tone and fitness
  • Improve their energy levels
  • Lose weight

What will I receive?

Susan will perform a quick test, and then enter your results into a computer. You will be given a
computerised analysis of your health, including your key biomarkers, and what areas can be
improved. Over time, your results can be compared, so that you and Susan have a very clear idea of
your progress.
Susan will take this information into account and make treatment recommendations to improve
your specific areas of concern. This means that recommended treatment will be specific for you and
your concerns, ensuring optimal results.
